Thursday June 2nd 2016 turned out to be a cool day for the annual fixture with the Market Harborough Senior Gentlemen. However, the welcome the ladies received was exceptionally warm which made up for the weather. The ladies were all presented with a poker chip ball marker as a memento of the day.
The format was once again an AM-AM with one lady’s and one gentleman’s scores to count on each hole and the fourballs all reported that they had had fun. Due to the weather, the course was playing difficult, (it was blowing extremely cold up on the tops!) so the gentlemen generously allowed placing throughout, just for this fun event. It was certainly welcome!
The scores returned were all close with the winners being Percy May (Capt), David Smith, Barbara King (Capt) and Shirley Hardy with 74 points. The nearest the pin for the gentlemen was Barrie Richie and for the ladies, Alison Seddon.
There was also a hole in one recorded by John Halden (his 7th!)
