August 8th at Longcliffe

We welcomed Anne and her Nottinghamshire team to an unfortunately wet, windy and drizzly Longcliffe on Thursday

Longcliffe as always was in great condition and its a shame that the opposition did not see the course in the sunshine

We played 3 pairs off scratch with Barbara Suffolk and Sally Jee the lead pair winning 2/1.  Sally Lax and Janey Heaney were out second winning 5/3 and Sue Godfrey with Sarah Bowler out 3rd winning 6/5

Our next 3 matches were all off handicap with Vice Captain Jacqui Knight with Linden McCoubrie out 1st - not many shots being given and the L & R team won 4/2.  Second out were Sally Townsend with Gail Andrews - again with hardly any shots being exchanged and winning 4/3.  Trudie Allen with new to the Vets Stella Curran were out 3rd giving 7 and 8 shots to the oppositon very nearly made it a clean sweep for L & R but losing just 2/1

So a 5/1 overall win for L & R.  Longlciffe looked after us all very well with a lovely meal and as always great company.  Thank you to Longcliffe for hosting the match and to all the L & R ladies that played in this match,  Onto Erewash and Derbyshire on Monday for our final outside the county  match  - hoping for another win
