L&RVLGA 1st Team Game with Rothley Senior Gents
Rothley Park GC July 8th 2024
A lovely sunny day at Rothley Park and we played a better ball AmAm (one man / one lady to count off handicap) with the Rothley Senior Gents. The course was in lovely condition following heavy rain showers the day before.
8 teams played and the Nearest the Pin in 2 on the 5th was won by Jane Ackling. Nearest the Pin on 12th by Chris Olivier.
The scores were all very good and we had 4 teams on 81 points so LR countback was used to determine the winners. Runners up were, Annie Martin, Trish Formoy, Roger Large and Chris Olivier with a back 9 of 43 points but the winners with a great back 9 score of 45 points were; Diana Miller, Sarah Bowler, John Dekonski and Fred Walker-Smith
This is a welcome fixture on the calendar and always enjoyed by all who play – the food was lovely and the atmosphere in the clubhouse excellent and we all look forward to the same fixture in 2025
We have a little break now of matches until August 8th when we entertain Notts at Longlciffe.
