2nd Team v Staffordshire
THURSDAY 11th May 2022

What a contrast in weather to the match played on 21st April. A huge thank you to all the Leicestershire Ladies who braved the torrential rain on the journey to Newcastle-Under-Lyme and a special thanks must go to Brenda, Carol and Jo whose journey from Leicester took them 2 hours!
The weather didn’t improve until around the last hour of play when the sunshine came out and we were all looking forward to our choice of meal. It is unusual for us to be given a pre-order but it worked well on this occasion.
President Sue was again a crucial part of our squad and the welcome and friendship from the Staffordshire ladies was tremendous. Staffordshire work quite differently to Leicestershire in that their Vice Captain runs the 2nd Team, the Captain runs the 1st Team and the Past Captain runs the 3rd Team. So the Captain of our Match was Carol Alford and Staffordshire Captain Mandy Ambat kept a beady eye on us popping up on many occasions and noting the scores!
Another thank you again goes to our Vice Captain Jan who not only was kind enough to be my chauffeur but was early enough collecting me to help with the final checking of handicaps.
The score was 3 ½ to Leicestershire and 4 ½ to Staffordshire

A vast improvement on last year when we lost at Lingdale 1 ½ - 6 ½ .
