2nd TEAM CAPTAIN V VICE CAPTAIN

Brilliant sunshine, warm weather, excellent golf course and 32 super ladies, none of whom looked old enough to be a Leicestershire & Rutland Veteran.
It is never easy to put 32 Ladies together at the best of times and although it was a challenge to source two teams for this first match of the season, everyone eventually managed to tee off on time. A special thank you to Sylvia Armson and Jo Smith who were literally dragged (or shall I say buggied) off the course to make up for two unavoidable last minute substitutions.
I was well supported by President Sue Barker who partnered me against a most efficient Vice Captain, Jan Dorn and her Longcliffe partner Amanda Morgan.
The cherry blossom and bluebells were at their best and we couldn’t resist a photograph featuring President Sue, Captain Sandra and Vice Captain Jan taken between the 7th green and 8th tee.

The chicken in a mushroom & white wine sauce followed by treacle sponge & custard and raspberry pavlova just about put the icing on the cake – well that was until Jan announced the result – a brilliant win for the Captain’s Team: 6/2:
