2nd Team + Whetstone Senior Gents

I just long for a fixture that is without some problem or another… this time a vehicle on fire on the motorway, causing delay to some of our ladies.  However, miracles happen and we were all able to tee off in time with minor adjustments to the order of play.

This fixture was played as an AM/AM with one lady and one Whetstone Senior Gent to score on each hole and all scores to count on the par 3’s. The 17th hole being nearest the pin for both ladies and gents.

In previous years we have played off 90% handicap but for this year their Captain wanted Full Handicap to keep it as a friendly game. 

We had coffee/tea provided by the gents before going out to play and had a delicious meal of Roast lamb with all the trimmings….yummie, it was so delicious.

The Senior’s Captain Bob welcomed the ladies to Whetstone Golf Club and most of us managed to complete our rounds before the rain set in.  It was the turn of the Whetstone Senior men to organise the prizes this year and they provided bottles of wine for the winning team and for the two nearest the pins.

Nearest the pin for the gentlemen on the 17th green was Kev Deegan and one of his playing partners Sandra Roberts, our Vice Captain won the ladies nearest the pin. The winning team with a fantastic score of 102 points were Kev Deegan, Chris Page, Sandra Roberts from Longcliffe Golf Club and Lesley Watson from Lutterworth Golf Club…

Well done to all, a terrific very enjoyable day and thanks to our hosts ’Whetstone Senior Gents’.
