Leicestershire & Rutland versus Warwickshire 2^nd Team Match

June has been a very busy month and we were soon playing our inter-county match on 15^th at Glen Gorse against Warwickshire ladies. A little light rain for the first few groups out soon dispersed and we then enjoyed a warm sunny day. Another beautifully presented Leicestershire course, and very friendly spirit in all the fourballs.

Our meal of caramelised pork fillet with madeira sauce and dauphinoise potatoes was followed by mixed fruit pavlova and coffee/tea. The meal, with a special mention for dessert, received top marks from our visitors and team members. The visiting team commented on how much they’d enjoyed the course and made special mention of the beautiful gardens surrounding the clubhouse.

The matches were all very close but unfortunately another loss for the 2^nd team gave the Warwickshire ladies a 5 & 3 win.

We are now half-way through our fixtures for 2017 and have been represented by 20 different Leicestershire golf clubs in the matches to date.
