On Friday 8^th July 2016 a new annual event was added to the L&RVLGA calendar. The format was an AmAm with two Vets ladies and two Captains Association ladies, all with 29-36 handicaps, making up each team.
The day started warm and cloudy but as the first group stood on the 1^st tee at Kibworth GC, the clouds parted and the whole match was played in lovely sunshine. It was windy, more so on the back nine, but the ladies all managed to cope with it admirably and the scores were excellent. The course was in a superb condition and the greens were running true. The meal was a cold salad buffet followed by a choice of dessert. Judging by the banter in the clubhouse the occasion was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
The event was won with an outstanding score of 90 returned by Linda Sim, Shelagh Butler, Ann Parkin and Anne Bluck and the prizes were presented by President Janet and President Jenny of the two Associations.
