Leicestershire & Rutland 2nd Team v Derbyshire 2nd Team
At Park Hill Golf Club on Thursday 29th May
What a change! There had been torrential rain the day before and the days prior to that. The day itself was overcast with light showers but the match was played. Course conditions were very wet, especially in the rough and after a discussion with the pro, we adopted placing throughout the course, which was gratefully accepted by all.
We had a full team with one late replacement at 7.30am after one team member was ill overnight. I am most grateful to all my team for playing on a not very pleasant day and especially Barbara King, my last gasp replacement.
Despite the conditions, everyone enjoyed their matches and Derbyshire enjoyed the course.
The result was a win to our home team 6 ½ - 2 ½
