L&RVLGA 1st Team Match Vs Lincolnshire

Result 6 / 2 to Lincolnshire
Unfortunately due to county scratch team matches and the distance to be travelled - we were only able to field a team of 15 for this match against a very strong Lincolnshire side on a windy, blustery day, the matches escaped most of the squally showers!
I would very much like to thank everyone for playing and travelling so far especially to those ‘2nd’ team members who travelled and braved the day and played for me – its very much appreciated.
We all drove at least 80 miles to Waltham Windmill through every season of weather. The course was lovely, in excellent condition and the greens true and slick. 13 holes had water in play which made it tricky.
We played a very strong Lincolnshire team and I’m afraid as captain I had to play two lovely ladies – who were very steady on my own. All the matches were played in excellent spirit and we had a lovely meal afterwards but the result went again L & R
For the rest of our matches in June – I have more players available so lets hope for better results but more importantly that everyone playing continues to enjoy the experience. Yet again we had new ladies playing and earning matches towards their county colours.
