Treasurer Jane Ackling of Leicestershire and Rutand Veteran Ladies Golf Association made a £200 donation to the Junior Girls and this is the acknowledgement from Anita Higginson:
Dear Jane
On behalf of the Executive Committee and all the County girls I would like to express our
sincere thanks for the generous donation the L&RVLGA have made to us this year.
The Junior Girls are growing in number and ability thanks to the opportunities we are
enabled to provide for them. Our plan is not only to develop our elite golfers but also to
grow the game at grass roots level to ensure the future of girls’ and ladies’ golf.
Next year’s plans include playing & development opportunities for all girls across the skill &
age ranges. Our 1st & 2nd teams will enjoy an overnight trip to a golf centre in Cambridgeshire
which is always great for team bonding. Free coaching will continue for girls new to golf –
monthly sessions where they develop new skills, make friends and have fun! Our Foxes
Junior Pathway Tour will enter it’s second year visiting six locations throughout the County
where we hold 18-hole, 9-hole, Super50 & Flag50 events for approximately 80 boys and girls
at each venue. These events are hugely popular and it’s so good to see so many young
people from affiliated clubs having fun and enjoying their golf.
The future of our funding from England Golf is insecure and so the donations we receive
from organisations like yours make a huge difference to our ability to continue along our
successful path.
Once again, many thanks for your support which is very much appreciated.
Yours sincerely
Anita Higginson
