What a treat! Playing the gorgeous Wellingborough course for free in perfect sunny, warm conditions! We were given a very friendly welcome by our Northampton opponents, but they were not so kind to us out on the golf course – with none of the games going to the 18th, we were beaten by 5 games to 3. I am sure that all the L&RV ladies really enjoyed the course, which was quite challenging in places, but we were all certainly ready for a sit down with a cool drink in the picturesque gardens and the delicious meal that followed. Mixed feelings, I’m sure, for Karen Thompson of Rothley Park, who very nearly had a hole in one on one of the Par 3s – there would have been a lot of very thirsty ladies back in the clubhouse!!
The 2nd team play Northants on 27th July at Kirby Muxloe, and we will be looking to get our own back that day!
