Captain Jan and Vice Captain Pauline

 

The 2nd team’s first fixture – Captain V Vice-Captain 13th April 2023

The sun finally came out for our first fixture of the year, held at Captain Jan Dorn’s home club Rothley Park. Although most of us got a sprinkling of hail and showers during the round, as we’ve come to expect from this Spring’s weather, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their matches and being able to catch up with old and new friends in relaxed circumstances. We also appreciated the effort that Lady President Sue put in to come and see us all off on the first tee. The course was playing very well, with fast greens that caught a few out, and we had a delicious meal afterwards. Many of the matches were very close but the Lady Vice-Captain Pauline was delighted to announce that her team had ended victorious by 5 ½ to 2 ½.  Thank you to all the Ladies who turned out to make this such a delightful start to the season, and fingers crossed that we finally get some more sustained sunshine for the rest of our matches! I look forward to seeing many more of you through the course of the year.
