2nd Team + Glen Gorse Senior Gents 

I did begin to wonder if any of the Glen Gorse Men were ever going to arrive…but hey presto 15 minutes before the first tee time they arrived in their droves and all looking very dapper in their dark blue Golf Shirts. 

Alan (GGGC Seniors Captain) welcomed us to Glen Gorse Golf Club and with the buzz in the room it was clear that we were all enjoying one another’s company.

The fixture was played as an AM/AM with one L&RVLGA lady and one GGGC senior gent to score on each hole. Alan & I wanted it to be a fun day, so we decided to allow full course handicap.  Golly, gosh, what super scores we had and congrats to Sheila Chamberlain from Scraptoft Golf Club who scored 5 points on one hole…well done Sheila.

Are we the new Friends Re-united?  Pam Hall discovered that Paul Hastings, one of the men in her team, were at school together… what a coincidence that they were paired in the same team.

Bev, the Catering Manager, suggested before we went out to play that we change to an Eton Mess, instead of the Apple Crumble.  Great idea, as once again we were playing in very hot sunshine.

The winning team with 88 points were: Ken Toynton, Keith Cooper, Carole Parkes from Lutterworth GC and Lynn Cassidy from Charnwood GC.

2nd prize:Bob Rowlett, Bob Hayes, Sandra Roberts from Longcliffe GC & Christine Lewis from Ullesthorpe GC with 87 points.

Thank you ladies for making this fixture so enjoyable.
