2nd Team v Staffordshire 

Friday 10th May at Barlaston Golf Club

Limited initial availability, numerous withdrawals and a lady missing on the day, made this a very challenging fixture to organise. A special thank you to everyone that played, but particularly to ladies from Charnwood and Lingdale that stepped in at very short notice. Their support was very much appreciated.

Bev and her team from Staffordshire made us feel very welcome. The course at Barlaston was a delight to play, and despite very heavy rain showers, everyone obviously enjoyed their game. Staffordshire put out a strong team as usual, with two players from the host club. Despite our very best efforts, we unfortunately lost the match 5-3. An excellent result considering all the upheaval.

The match was followed by a superb meal of Chicken Supreme or Mushroom, Brie and Cranberry Wellington, followed by Lemon Tart and Strawberries and Cream.
