We had a very windy day for our match at Blankney Golf Club against Lincolnshire making the game very tricky. The greens were quite challenging with their slopes and speed. The course itself was well presented and if you went off the fairway you were penalised severely with the rough which was very high.
We were made very welcome by the Lincolnshire ladies, many of whom played in last year’s match and from ‘local’ clubs like Greetham Valley who you forget are in Lincolnshire.
We ate cold meat salad served buffet style with Eton mess to follow. Lovely quiches made in the kitchen by the inhouse chef.
I am afraid that they reversed last years score and this time Leicestershire lost 5½ – 2½.
Thanks to all who played.
