We all left home in the rain but by the time we arrived at Retford GC the sun was shining. The course began with two par 5’s which were long and straight, followed by two par 3’s surrounded by bunkers. Then we went into the country woods with long walks between the greens and tees which were a very welcome shade from the sunshine. Each of the holes had a name which kept everyone guessing as to what was to be expected with one par 3 being aptly named ‘The Alps’. Retford is a course that is well worth a visit.
The Nottinghamshire ladies proved once again to be excellent hosts. The meal which was a cold buffet with chips was incredible at such a reasonable cost.
The ladies of Leicestershire came through again with a 4½ - 3½ win. Very well done ladies.
