1ST July 2015, was the hottest July day on record! What were 16 L&RVLGA ladies doing……….playing a match against 16 Lincolnshire lady vets, at Kirby Muxloe. Not a breath of fresh air. Some ladies wilted, but most carried on. The halfway house was open and very welcoming, some ladies even had an ice cream.
Most of the tee boxes had had some damage to them, so we were playing off temporary tees. A little disappointing, but non the less the course played fine.
There was plenty of chatter in the clubhouse before and after the match, but not much on the course, as ladies were dealing with the extreme heat. All the games were close and this is reflected in the overall result of Leics 3 ½ - Lincolnshire 4 ½ .
